• The Final Teacher Working Conditions Report is now available here in PDF Format. 

• 2006 Teacher Working Conditions Survey: The Biennial Teacher Working Conditions Survey was administered March 27 through May 1, 2006.  Over 85% (1985) of schools reached the minimum 40% response rate and have valid school-level reports available on the NC Teacher Working Conditions Website. 

• Creating an Atmosphere of Trust - Lessons from Exemplary Schools: On January 24, 2007 the Commission and the Center for Teaching Quality hosted a focus group consisting of principals and teachers from across the state who had exemplary responses to the trust and mutual respect portion of 2006 Teacher Working Conditions Survey.  Click here to see the entire report in PDF Format.

• The NC Professional Teaching Standards Commission met in Research Triangle Park, NC on February 1st and 2nd.  Minutes will be available soon. 

• The first series of Pilot Sites' training was conducted around the state on October 11, 12, 15, and 16.  Additional half day training sessions are scheduled for late October 23rd in Marion; October 24th in Statesville, October 29 in Fayetteville, and November 1 in Tarboro.

• Members of the Commission met on September 28, 2007 as part of the Task Force Meeting to discuss the upcoming pilot training for the teacher and the school executive instruments.

• Carolyn Williams - Commission Chair, Commission Members Sheree Covey, Ruth Wormald, Jack Hoke, Meg Turner, and Diana Beasley led a very well-attended breakout session on the new standards at the Summer Leadership Conference that was held in Asheville, NC on June 26, 2007.

• Carolyn Williams, Commission Chair, David Corsetti, Commission Vice Chair, and Jack Hoke, Commission Member presented the NC Professional Teaching Standards (revised) to the 21st Century Professionals Committee of the NC State Board of Education. 

• The NC Professional Teaching Standards Commission met April 27 - 28 in Raleigh to consider input received for the Standards.
