2004: One of Disney's 39 Teacher Honorees, featured in Women's Day "Back to School" Issue, Vice-president, Robeson Association of Educators, and President of, NCAE Cluster 4    

2003: NEA Foundation Teaching Excellence Award, Horace Mann Teaching Excellence Award, Terry Sanford Award for Creativity in Teaching and Administration, and NEA Innovation Grant recipient                                                            

2002: SDE Nation Second Grade Teacher of the Year, ALL-USA Today Second Team-Top Forty Teachers in the Nation, State Finalist Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching, Robeson County Board of Commissioners Proclamation for Outstanding Citizen in Community Affairs and North Carolina PTA District 10 Educator Award

2001: All-USA Today Teacher Second Team-Top 40 Teachers in Nation, North Carolina Jiffy Lube Teaching Excellence Award, and elected to four year term Town Board of Commissioners    

2000: President, Robeson Association of Educators, "Top Three Favorite Teachers" Robeson County Readers Choice Awards, Peterson Elementary Teacher of the Year, and Once of Five Finalist for Robeson County Teacher of the Year

1999: Nation Board Certification, Early Childhood Generalist, Board of Directors-UNC-Pembroke Alumni Association, and Second Place in Statewide NCAE Minority Affairs Arts Contest          

1998: Treasurer Robeson Association of Educators-Two Terms, member , North Carolina Teaching Fellows Evaluation Team- UNC-P, and Master Teacher Training, Sandhills Regional Education Consortium

1997: Public Schools of Robeson County Teacher of the Year, Oxendine Elementary Teacher of the Year, First Place in Statewide NCAEA Minority Affairs Arts Contest and WBTW 13 Golden Apple Award
